"Sacred Heart Home Educators is an association of Catholic homeschooling families who have agreed to become an educational and social community for the support of one another while maintaining each family's autonomy in the process of educating their children.

"We pledge loyalty to the Pope, the teaching of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and to our diocesan Bishop.  We are an independent group of lay Catholics and have no formal relationship with the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.  We seek to maintain cordial and respectful relations with the Bishop and the Diocese of Phoenix.  Our association has been consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary."

"As the Second Vatican Council recalled, 'since parents have conferred life on their children, they have a most solemn obligation to educate their offspring.  Hence, parents must be acknowledged as the first and foremost educators of their children.  Their role as educators is so decisive that scarcely anything can compensate for their failure in it.  For it devolves on parents to create a family atmosphere so animated with love and reverence for God and others that a well-rounded personal development will be fostered among the children.  Hence, the family is the first school of those social virtues which every society needs.'
