March For Life - 2010 PDF Print E-mail
Written by April Yeager

If you’ve ever wondered what the Pro Life movement looks like at the annual March for Life and Rally in D.C., it is alive and well!

Last week, my daughter, Randi, and other SHHE members Pat Patterson and daughter Mary, Debbi Gambert and Anita Usher, all had the extreme privilege to march on the Nation’s Capitol, in defense of the millions of lives of unborn babies.

There is much hope and joy to be had in this society. No matter what the internet tells you, no matter what the media says or does not say, no matter how much we see on television, in the stands, at the checkout counters, in our emails, from our grassroots organizations, God is in charge and He has either moved or held onto the hearts of many.

Welcome to the new Sacred Heart Home Educators' Website!

First of all, thanks for visiting. We're very excited to have started a new chapter in our online interaction with each other. This site is a work in progress, and we're very interested in your feedback, good and bad. So please, if something's so cool that you can't contain yourself, let us know. Also, if you think somethings just not working the way we'd hoped, let us know that too. And if you have an idea for new features of the site, pass that along as well.

If you are already a homeschool family in SHHE, but haven't registered for the '09/'10 school year, please do so by clicking on the Registration link. If you need help, check out our tutorials.

If you're new, either new in town (actually SHHE serves home school families throughout Arizona), or new to homeschooling, or just new to SHHE, take a look around! We have lots of resources and links to help any homeschool family. If you want to learn more about what our community offers the Catholic Homeschool family, check out our mission statement, as well as the frequently asked question (FAQ) What is SHHE? If you feel called to be part of our group, click on the Registration link.

Thanksgiving PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kris Forbes

I can't believe it is mid November already!  Perhaps it is the 85 degree weather that is throwing me off.  Our family is enjoying every minute of outside time still in shorts and flip flops.  I am just glad I haven't had to haul all the cold weather clothes in from their poorly labled boxes in the garage Laughing.

In this season of thankfulness I just want to thank God for the opportunity to homeschool.  Sometimes I take it forgranted how blessed we are to live in a country and state that give us so much freedom to do so.  Really it is our God given right and privelage! I am grateful for all those "pilgrims" of homeschooling who have gone before me and paved the way.  Our journey has seemed so easy and the support we have recieved has been tremendous.

I invite you to take some time to pray for countries where homeschooling is illeagal or heavy restrictions are imposed.  Also, pray for those who feel called to homeschool but are feeling pressured not to.  We have all seen the ways God has blessed are families for answering this call and we know the world will be blessed by our efforts!

Have a holy and happy Thanksgiving,

Kris Forbes
